Writing for a new site that reached 1,000 clicks a day
A tech brand in a specialist hobbyist niche (shown by niche to respect confidentiality), starting from a new site with weak rankings, thin content, and a weak link profile. I was the content writer on the agency team that ran the campaign: the articles and new pages were my lane.
The story in 60 seconds
Challenge
- New site, weak rankings, minimal blog
- Limited product range to work with
- SERPs dominated by entrenched competitors and video results
My part
- Hundreds of new pages targeting important keywords
- Blog expansion for top-of-funnel demand
- Optimizing existing content for missed queries
Campaign result
- 1,000 organic clicks per day
- $150,000+ organic revenue in 4 months
- 21,877 keyword rankings; DR 12 → 41 in 100 days
The challenge: a new site with very little to rank
The brand was starting close to zero: a new site with weak rankings, a limited product range, minimal blog content, and a link profile too thin to compete (Domain Rating 12). The search results it needed to break into were crowded with entrenched competitors, product packs, and video results.
My part: pages and articles at volume
With a limited catalog, the way to grow was to widen the site's footprint. The campaign built hundreds of new pages targeting dozens of important keywords, expanded the blog to catch top-of-funnel demand, and optimized existing content for queries it was almost ranking for. Writing that content, at volume, publish-ready, and mapped to real searches, was my job on the team.
Content was one leg of the campaign. The agency team also fixed foundational technical and schema issues and invested aggressively in link building, which compounded the content's rankings (the site's Domain Rating rose from 12 to 41 in about 100 days).
The campaign result
Within about 4 months, the site reached 1,000 organic clicks a day, ranked for 21,877 keywords, and generated over $150,000 in organic revenue as reported by the agency, including $25,000+ from Bing alone. New content plus links plus technical fixes, each multiplying the others.
These are campaign results published by the agency that ran the engagement, where I worked as the content writer; they reflect the whole team's work across content, links, and technical SEO, not mine alone. Client shown by niche to respect confidentiality. Results like these depend on many factors and are never guaranteed.
