A lifestyle & farm brand, cited across AI answers
A lifestyle and farm ecommerce brand (shown by niche to respect confidentiality) competing on informational queries in a space full of aggregators and marketplaces. As Google began answering those queries with AI Overviews, the goal shifted: be the source the AI quotes.

The challenge: the answer moved above the links
Google started answering the niche's biggest buying questions with AI Overviews, and the brand was not in them. Traffic to classic listings was shrinking as the answer absorbed the clicks. Ranking on page one was no longer enough; the content had to be quotable by the AI itself.
The approach
I rebuilt the key articles answer-first: question-shaped headings, tight 40–60 word direct answers, specific numbers and comparison tables the AI could lift cleanly, FAQ schema, and consistent entity signals across the site so the engines knew who the source was.
The result
For the niche's core pricing query, the AI Overview now cites the client's articles in all three citation slots. A related comparison query cites the site six times in a single answer. The same content gets the client named across engines: cited in Google's AI Overview and recommended in ChatGPT's answers.
